IF you are manually entering the perimeters in the BIOS Setup program then you will need to know three settings. What you need to know is the Cylinders, Sectors, and Heads, all of which will be printed on the top-side of the hard disk. This requires for you to write down the specs on a piece of paper, if you are finding specs for a hard disk that is in a computer then you will need to turn off the computer before extraction.

After you have recorded the settings down on a piece of paper you will want to reinsert the hard disk and properly install the cables.

Next enter SETUP and select the hard disk option, sometimes it is under the main options and sometimes it is in the hard disk utility option and sometimes it's in some random spot that makes no sense what so ever.

Here you will set the IDE Adapter to manual and enter the specifications needed which are usually just heads, sectors, and cylinders, and the mode to LBA.

After this is all done you should be ready to perform the partition(s) and formatting.
